Myopia
Myopia, also known as near sightedness and short sightedness. Myopia is the most common of the refractive errors of the eye.

You may be experiencing myopia if you have any of these symptoms:
- Blurry Distance Vision
- Squinting
- Eye Strain
- Headaches
What is Myopia?
Myopia can be caused by the eye being a little too long from front to back, or the cornea (the clear window over the front of the eye) being more curved than it should be. Occasionally it can be the lens inside the eye that is too highly curved. Each state will lead to light focusing in front of the retina instead of on it, causing the image to be out of focus.

How do you correct myopia?
Myopia is corrected by prescribing a lens that counteracts the error in curvature and focuses light exactly on the retina. Contact lenses are also suitable in many cases of myopia, and in some cases corrective refractive surgery is a consideration.
Why does myopia happen?
Myopia usually begins when you are a child, and it can be inherited from your parents. Incidence of myopia increases with near work. It is also more prevalent in some ethnic groups than others.
Short Sighted vs Far sighted
